Constantia, Sauvignon Blanc & the Season of Spring
September 8, 2025We are proud to share that our Eagles’ Nest Sauvignon Blanc Reserve 2024 has been awarded an impressive 94 points (4.5 stars) in the Platter’s by Diners Club South African Wine Guide, a rating reserved for wines that show exceptional quality, character, and craftsmanship.
This recognition highlights what makes the Reserve such a standout expression of the Eagles’ Nest slopes. Grown on elevated vineyards just 10.5km from the cool coastline of False Bay, the grapes benefit from Constantia’s maritime breezes, decomposed granite soils, and a unique range of aspects and altitudes. Each block is harvested separately and vinified with precision, allowing every component to express its own identity.
Under the guidance of Cellar Master Craig Barnard, the wine is crafted through a combination of stainless-steel fermentation and older French oak barrels. This dual approach retains purity and freshness while adding subtle texture, depth, and complexity, qualities that define the Reserve and helped earn its Platter’s acclaim.
The result is a Sauvignon Blanc that is vibrant yet refined, layered with tropical and citrus notes, lifted minerality, and a fresh, zesty core. It’s a wine that captures not only its elevated origins but also the meticulous care given from vineyard to bottle.
We are honoured by this recognition and remain committed to producing wines that reflect the beauty, precision, and cool-climate elegance of Eagles’ Nest.
